Do-Division Street Fest

MAY 30TH & 31ST, TO KICK OFF CHICAGO'S SUMMER STREET FESTIVAL SEASON

MENOMENA AND FLOSSTRADAMUS HEADLINE FIRST CLASS MUSIC LINEUP, FAMILY FUN FEST OFFERS ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNG AND YOUNG AT HEART!

When the sweet scent of summer fills the air in Chi Town, the neighborhood festival season has arrived.   Kicking things off with a bang is the annual Do-Division Street Fest and Sidewalk Sale, Saturday, May 30th and Sunday, May 31st.  Spanning a whopping 10 city blocks on Division from Ashland to Leavitt, this year's street party features an all new Family Fun Fest area in addition to the best of local offerings: the food, the vendors, the music, and even the featured beer, Pabst Blue Ribbon, is selected based on its popularity in the surrounding 'hood.  Given the status of West Division Street as one of the hippest neighborhoods in Chicago, the event's 40,000+ expected attendees wouldn't want it any other way but local.

The Music
Programmed by Empty Bottle Presents, a 15-year West Town mainstay, the talent lineup this year features original music of the highest quality, including live bands on the main stage at Division and Damen, DJs at the Wicker Wash car wash, and a backstage VIP tent sponsored and live-streamed by Time Out Chicago.  Top-billing on Saturday goes to Chicago dynamo Flosstradamus; while indie rock gods Menomena close things out on Sunday!

There will be a $5 donation requested for admittance to offset the costs of the event and to benefit local non-profit services for the immediate area, and three local public elementary schools: A.N. Pritzker, LaSalle II Magnet and Anderson.  Hours of operation both days are noon to 10 pm (and the Family Fun Fest is open from noon to 6 pm both days).  For more info, call 312-850-9390 or visit www.do-divisionstreetfest.com. .
