Sprucing up Chicago's West Town for the first time this summer is Green Music Fest, Saturday, August 15th through Sunday, August 16th at Eckhart Park(1330 W. Chicago Avenue). The Eco-Friendly Vendor Village
Green Music Fest is where thousands of community members who care for the environment can unite to enjoy high quality music while discovering new ways to go green. Vendors in the Eco-Friendly Vendor Village will be exclusively green or eco-friendly, peddling everything from crafts made from recycled materials to solar-powered techie devices to fresh eco-liscious dishes!
With sponsorship support from the City of Chicago's Center for Green Technology, more than 40 green vendors are participating. Among the many, Chicago-based Green Planet Bottling will be providing attendees with a healthy, environmentally friendly beverage option as the festival's official bottled water vendor, using bottles made from 100% renewable resources. In addition, Verizon Wireless will be collecting no-longer-used wireless phones and equipment from any wireless service provider for its HopeLine® phone recycling program. The fest is also being produced in the most eco-friendly way possible, with biodegradable plastic cups, recycling options, free bike valet parking, and much more.
