Alderman Wants Banks to Pay Transfer Tax

The City of Chicago Finance Committee will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 28, at 9 a.m. to discuss Alderman Roberto Maldonado's proposal to add a referendum to the November ballot that would impose an additional transfer tax on banks and other mortgagees or secured creditors that currently don't pay taxes connected to title transfers of foreclosed homes. Who will ultimately pay the tax? Not the banks or secured creditors. The tax would be passed directly on to consumers.

You can stop this. Click on the links to learn more about this tax increase. Watch the NBC5 interview or locate your local alderman and call. It is the Wrong Tax at the Wrong Time on the Wrong People.
